Teamsters Local Union 106 has filed a complaint against the employer’s interference in the attempt to unionize Transport Climan’s tens of truck drivers
The complaint filed with the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) accuses the employer, Transport Climan, of interfering with Teamsters Local Union 106’s organizing campaign.
The Teamsters union is currently attempting to unionize this employer after its employees expressed their intention of joining the ranks of North America’s largest union.
The Teamsters’ offensive is not limited to Canada, but also includes Transport Climan drivers who travel routes in the United States and Mexico.
“Our future members are not stupid!” cries out in anger the organizer assigned to the Transport Climan case in Québec, Alain Malo. “They are aware that the employer’s attempts to implement so-called improvements are nothing more than a smokescreen designed to deceive them. I am convinced that we will soon be in a position to file the application for certification and that these drivers will finally be treated with respect.”
