On-Line Bidding at CP - Update

Brothers and Sisters,

As the TP&E initial crew bulletins are being released across the system, we are getting flooded with calls concerning problems that members are encountering. It seems that quite a few have not been able to enter their bids "on-line" and are having to print off copies and fax them in.

Some people are not even able to get into the "Rail City Lite" site, to print off the copies. Though the company representatives in charge of this system assure us that this is not their fault or that they will have the problems corrected as soon as possible, the problems still persist.  Some of our members are even encountering 30 minute or better wait times on the call in lines.

I encourage everyone not to wait for the last minute to get their bids done. With the problems which are currently occurring, you could run out of time. Though you are not responsible for company generated errors and will have until the deadline to get your bids in, it may save quite a bit of hassle in the long run, if you deal with your bids sooner rather than later.

If you encounter any difficulties, call 1-800-547-3461 and request paper copies be mailed to you.  You can then fill them out and fax them in and will also get confirmation that they were received. fax #'s are 403 319 6176 (pacific) or 403 319 3334 (non-pacific).

If you continue to have problems (which we are finding is the case in many instances), contact Ali Damji via e-mail at ali_damji@cpr.ca or by phone at 403 319 3019 office/ (403) 461-9803 cell.

Remember to keep a record of every call and /or correspondence you have with the company over the bulletins because if there is a mistake made we will want to get it corrected as fast as possible. Your records may make the difference when rectifying seniority or resolving compensation issues.

For answers to any questions that the company is refusing to respond to in a timely fashion, or any other issue of importance, make sure that you contact your Director (all contact info can be found at http://www.teamsters.ca/page_section.php?idPage=72&idSectionLocale=45 ).

We did not cause this problem nor are we responsible for it, however for the sake of our membership we will continue to work at getting it corrected.

Stay safe, stay strong, stay united,
